Tuition is based on the number of classes your dancer is enrolled in and covers the full dance season. We spread your annual costs into 10 monthly installments from September through June. This does not vary or pro-rate regardless of absences, holidays, etc. Dance Expressions follows Tewksbury Public Schools for closures with some exceptions.

Tuition is due the 1st week of each month. Payments made after the 7th will incur a $15 late fee. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee.

We also offer a semester payment option for families who prefer to pay in two installments and save 10%. Semester payments are due September 1st and February 1st. To choose this option, you must email us before September 1st so we can adjust your account. If payment is not made by the 7th, your account will automatically switch back to monthly payments and the discount will be removed. Please note: The 10% semester discount does not apply to dancers on the Unlimited Class Plan. Only one discount may be used, and the Unlimited Plan already includes a reduced rate. If you’re on the Unlimited Plan, you are not eligible for an additional semester discount.

A $15 registration fee is due at the time of enrollment to secure your spot in class.

If you need to drop a class, please notify us in writing by emailing danceexpressions.us@gmail.com. Please note that all tuition, registration fees, and payments for classes, camps, and events are non-refundable.

  • Costume fees are included in your monthly payments:
    • $70 per recreational class = add $7/month per class
    • $120 per competition class = add $12/month per class
  • Base tuition (before costume fees):
    • Regular classes: $55.50/month
    • Combo classes (includes 2 dances): $62.50/month
    • Unlimited Class Plan (4 or more classes): $222/month

Please see chart below for an example of what monthly tuition looks like with costume fees already included. Tuition is split into 10 equal payments from September through June for your convenience. This chart is meant to give you a clear idea of what to expect based on the number and type of classes your dancer is enrolled in.

  • Beginning this season, all families will be required to enroll in Auto-Pay in order to register for classes. Auto-Pay will be processed on the 7th of each month that tuition is due. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, you absolutely still can! Simply submit your payment before the 7th of the month. If payment has not been received by that date, the card on file will automatically be charged. This change is being made to help keep accounts current and prevent families from falling behind on monthly tuition.
  • The monthly company costume payment has increased from $10.50 to $12 per company class, per month. As always, this monthly payment goes directly toward the cost of each dancer’s competition costumes throughout the season.

Unlimited Class Plan:
If your dancer takes 4 or more classes (recreational and/or competition mix), base tuition is capped at $222/month, plus costume fees based on the number and type of classes.

Family Multi-Student Discount:

  • 2 Dancers: Base tuition capped at $325/month once the family reaches 6 total classes
  • 3 Dancers: Base tuition capped at $365/month once the family reaches 7 total classes
    • Costume fees still apply and are added based on the number and type of classes taken.

To help keep accounts current and simplify monthly billing, Auto-Pay enrollment is required for all families. Registration cannot be completed without a valid payment method on file. Families cannot opt out of the Auto-Pay requirement.

How Auto-Pay Works

  • Auto-Pay is processed on the 7th of each month that tuition is due.
  • Auto-Pay applies to monthly tuition only.
  • If you prefer to pay by cash or check, you are welcome to do so. Simply submit your payment before the 7th of the month. If payment has not been received by the scheduled Auto-Pay date, the payment method on file will automatically be charged for your monthly tuition.

Additional Charges
Auto-Pay does not cover charges other than monthly tuition. Items such as shoes, apparel, competition fees, recital tickets, picture orders, late fees, or other miscellaneous charges must be paid separately through the Parent Portal or by cash/check.

Please check your Parent Portal regularly so you’re aware of any additional charges that may be posted to your account.

Payment Processing Fees

  • Credit Card: 3% processing fee
  • ACH (Bank Account): 1.05% processing fee

We encourage families who wish to avoid higher processing fees to connect a bank account for ACH payments or pay monthly tuition by cash or check before the 7th.

This policy helps ensure accounts remain up to date, reduces missed payments, and allows us to spend more time focused on our dancers and families. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

We take great care in selecting the perfect costume for each class. Every student will receive one costume for each class they’re enrolled in. Combo classes will receive two costumes, as they perform two different recital dances.

Costume Costs
Costume fees are built right into your monthly tuition:

  • $70 per recreational class
  • $120 per competition class
    • Solos, duos or trios will have an additional costume cost based on the selected design.

Costume prices include all accessories like headpieces or gloves, but do not include tights or shoes.

Measuring & Fitting
We begin measuring students during class in October and November to ensure proper sizing. While we aim to order the best fit, minor alterations may be needed once costumes arrive. Any alterations are the responsibility of the parent/guardian, though we do work with a local seamstress if you’d like assistance.

Distribution & Deadlines
Costumes will only be handed out if your account is paid in full, including all tuition and fees. Dance Expressions is not responsible for late costume arrivals due to missed or delayed payments.

Once you receive your costume:

  • Do not wear it until picture day, dress rehearsal, or recital to avoid damage or missing pieces.
  • Store it in a garment bag labeled with your dancer’s name.
  • Accessories should be kept in a clear, labeled plastic bag.
  • Do not machine wash costumes.

Withdrawals

If a dancer withdraws from class after costumes have been ordered, no refunds will be given. If the family chooses to keep the costume, they must first pay the remaining costume balance, which is $7 per month for recreational classes or $12 per month for competition classes, for each month left in the season.

Once the balance is paid, the costume can be picked up during our general costume distribution period or up to 15 days after the recital.

Tights
To keep a clean, uniform look on stage, dancers must wear the required style and color of tights for their class. Tights can be ordered through your Parent Portal or purchased at a local dancewear store. Please plan to buy new tights for the recital to ensure they look fresh and match the group.

Shoes
Please label all dance shoes with your child’s name. Many pairs go missing throughout the year! Shoe requirements for each class will be provided as we approach recital season.
