General Policies
-We ask that all dancers arrive on time and ready to learn. Creating a positive, respectful, and supportive environment is one of our top priorities. Dancers are expected to treat their instructors and classmates with kindness and respect at all times.

-To maintain focus and ensure a productive class, talking should be limited to class-related discussions. Disruptive behavior—such as phone use during class, refusal to participate, or a negative attitude—may lead to temporary removal from class.

-Dancers should arrive no more than 10 minutes before class and be picked up promptly afterward. Students must be accompanied into the studio by a parent or guardian and should wait inside the building for pickup.

-Parents also play a key role in supporting our dancers and contributing to a positive studio environment. We ask that all communication with staff and fellow families remains respectful, and that any concerns be addressed directly and constructively.

-Please keep lobby noise to a minimum to avoid disrupting classes. Young children must be supervised at all times.

-No gum is allowed in the studio. Water bottles are permitted, but food and drinks should remain in the lobby area.

Level Placement
We structure classes by age group and skill level to ensure every dancer receives the instruction, support, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential. Placement is determined by our faculty to ensure the best fit for each dancer’s abilities and goals.

Attendance
Regular attendance is key to every dancer’s progress and growth. Dancers are expected to attend all scheduled classes, rehearsals, and performances. Consistency not only helps individual improvement but also supports the entire group.
While we understand that occasional absences happen, frequent missed classes can impact a dancer’s ability to perform confidently. For Company dancers, repeated absences may affect competition eligibility.
*Please note that we do not offer refunds or discounts for missed classes.

Dress Code
We ask all dancers to follow our dress code to help create a focused, professional learning environment.

-Female students should wear a leotard or tank top in any color, tights, and dance shorts or leggings.  T-shirts, sweatshirts, and baggy pants are not permitted during class. Hair must be pulled back and out of the face.

-Male students should wear jogging pants or shorts with a fitted t-shirt.

When arriving for class, dancers should place their bags and shoes in the designated cubbies. Please make sure all items are labeled with your child’s name to prevent anything from getting lost.

Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, we follow the Tewksbury Public Schools:
– If school is canceled or dismissed early, there will be no dance classes.
– If there is a delayed opening, morning classes will be canceled.
We will send an email if classes are canceled and post updates on our social media. No refunds will be given for weather-related cancellations.

Updates & Communication
We’ll be sending out monthly email newsletters throughout the season with all the important info you need to know. Updates will also be posted on the bulletin board by the studio entrance.
To stay in the loop, we recommend joining our private Facebook group “DE Parents,” where we share regular updates just for our families. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram @danceexpressions885 for studio-wide announcements and reminders.

Front Desk & Payments
There will be no staffed front desk this season. All payments can be made online through the Parent Portal. If you’re paying by cash or check, please place it in the drop-off mailbox at the front desk.
For billing or administrative questions, email us at danceexpressions.us@gmail.com.
If you have a class-specific question, you’re welcome to speak briefly with your child’s teacher before or after class, but for anything detailed, please email instead.

By enrolling at Dance Expressions, you grant permission for the studio to photograph and videotape your dancer during classes and events. These may be used for promotional purposes including social media, our website, and other materials.
If you do not consent, you must notify us in writing by emailing danceexpressions.us@gmail.com.
